Anna Maria Island is a postcard perfect, narrow barrier island overlooking the Gulf of Mexico and Tampa Bay. It was recently named one of the world’s best places to visit by Travel & Leisure, who say:

Pat and Tim offer a classic Florida condo within the award-winning complex, Runaway Bay. Our two bed, two bath, self-catered condo can comfortably accommodate up to six guests, so it’s perfect for families seeking some downtime before or after hitting the theme parks of Orlando.or those wanting a week or two just by the sea!
We’ve been coming here with our kids since the 1980s, and now, with our grandkids. It’s still the perfect family vacation for all generations, and even though the secret’s out, this island still retains its original charm.
Resort-style Complex
Runaway Bay Resort
Runaway Bay is a resort-style complex spanning the breadth of Anna Maria Island, which is less than 200m at this point and, just under 1 km at its widest point. It features a fishing pier with serene views on the bay side, perfect for you early birds to watch the sunrise, or, as we often do, take an early evening cocktail.
On the Gulf side, there’s private beach access, leading to six pristine miles of white sandy shoreline, with world class sunsets. Our condo is equidistant from the beach and bay.
Runaway Bay offers amazing facilities for adults and kids alike, including the largest, heated salt water pool on the island, tennis and pickleball courts, shuffleboard, a small gym, sauna and clubhouse, all set within beautifully manicured gardens, featuring lagoons, fountains and quiet picnic and BBQ areas.

Ground floor condo with easy access and private parking
On the gulf of Mexico
The Condo
Our ground floor unit is modern (with a touch of Floridian kitsch) and well appointed with two bedrooms – one master with king size bed, ensuite bathroom and walk-in dressing room – and one twin room next to a second bathroom.
The apartment has a spacious open-plan living area with a sofa bed, plus kitchen-diner with breakfast bar. Other key features include smart TV, WIFI, laundry facilities and a dishwasher (for a full inventory of all facilities, please visit The Condo page).
At the back is a lanai, with table and chairs for outdoor dining. This opens out onto a mangrove-lined inlet and picnic area, leading to the fishing pier. Out front is a private parking space – but once you arrive, you’ll seldom need a car as the island’s free Trolley Bus, running the entire length of the island, picks up directly in front of Runaway Bay.
Our holiday home is smoke and pet free.
“We had a wonderful stay in your apartment – it had everything we could possibly want and was so comfortable. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and the beaches were all we dreamed of. My husbands favourite place was sitting on the pier early evening and watching for the dolphins. Lovely warm pool and would certainly recommend it to our friends. Loved the trolley bus – to be honest we loved everything. Wished we had stayed longer!”
